Strategic Packing

We are up late tonight finally packing for the trip. I've never traveled somewhere for 18 days...this is going to take some serious thought. Each of us is limited to one carry-on bag, a suitcase and our bike boxes. And we have to pack for hiking, cycling, running, dinners out, the beach and summit and valley climates. We have to pack computers, ipods, cameras, bikes, helmets, water bottles, maps, guidebooks, voltage converters. Oh yeah, and shoes. Lots of shoes.

So far so good! We've managed to fit everything and keep it under weight limits. I'm almost glad that the weather is supposed to be in the high 80s/low 90s because we don't have to pack any cold-weather gear. Tank tops, sundresses and bike shorts thankfully don't take up too much room!

Well, this is probably the last blog post stateside. We are pulling everything together tomorrow morning and heading to the airport around noon. Then we'll be traveling through Montreal and then off to Paris. We arrive at the airport in Paris at 8:30 a.m. local time on Saturday morning. So...here it goes! We're off. Next time we post, we'll be jet lagged, but happily eating baguettes, cheese and wine!
